Frankfurt (Revista E) - The Ferrari 458 Italia, which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show (Sept. 17-27), is the latest incarnation of the mid-rear engined berlinetta. The 458 Italia is a completely new car from every point of view: engine, design, aerodynamics, handling, instrumentation and ergonomics and benefits hugely from the company’s Formula 1 experience. The 458’s new engine, a 4,499 cc V8 is the first Ferrari direct injection engine to be mid-rear mounted and delivers 570 CV at 9,000 rpm. Maximum torque is 540 Nm at 6,000 rpm, over 80 per cent of which is available from 3,250 rpm.
